Beirut Madinati, on putting Hope within reach
While trying to challenge the highly regimented and traditional notion of “politics” in Lebanon, Beirut Madinati‘s campaign explored diversified tools and forms of communication stemming from a people-centered program that allowed to gain 40% of the votes and led to the emergence of a political movement.

Her presentation will reflect upon the role of social media in political campaigning through insights on the communication strategy and its public manifestation.  She will also consider the participatory aspect of the campaign, the dynamics and processes that allowed the party to shift from a campaign into a political movement.
